Symbolic AI

Concept Definition

This branch of artificial intelligence concerns high-level "symbolic" (human-readable) representations of problems and aims at explicitly representing human knowledge in a declarative form (facts and rules). Symbolic AI involves the explicit embedding of human knowledge and behavior rules into computer programs. As rules and relationships are encoded, they model the relationships between the facts. The system can then process the input data according to this model to provide a solution.
